Binance Smart Chain (BSC) is a L1 blockchain network that runs on a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, that aims to enable developers to build dApps and help users manage their digital assets with low latency and large capacity. BSC implements the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), which allows it to run Ethereum-based applications. BNB is the network’s PoS token that can be staked to contribute to network security and vote on governance proposals.

Harmony is a blockchain platform designed to facilitate the creation and use of decentralized applications (DApps). The network aims to innovate the way decentralized applications work by focusing on random state sharding, which allows creating blocks in seconds.

According to the project’s website, Harmony is expected to introduce cross-shard contracts and a cross-chain infrastructure by the end of 2021.
