What is Ask Price in Crypto?
In crypto trading, the ask price is simply the lowest price someone’s willing to sell an asset for right now. It’s what you’ll need to pay if you want to buy instantly, no haggling, no waiting.
Check the order book (basically the running list of buy and sell offers) and you’ll see the ask price sitting on the sell side, usually with how much is available.
The gap between the ask price (what sellers want) and the bid price (what buyers are offering) is called the spread. A tiny spread? That’s a busy, liquid market. A wide one? Things are quieter, or jumpier.
If you hit “buy” with a market order, you’re agreeing to the current ask. Want a better deal? Use a limit order, name your price, and hope someone bites. Either way, knowing the ask price keeps you grounded in what it actually costs to get in the game at that moment.
